Motherland monument

Opened in 1981 the monument represents the fighting spirit of the motherland in times of military danger. Being 102 meters tall, it is the tallest monumental sculpture in Europe. It is even 10 meters taller then the famous Statue of Liberty in New York

The monument is a central peace of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War, located in a large park area

The sculptures of the gallery leading to the monument represent the heroic defense of the motherland from German attack and the horrors of the Nazi occupation
