St Andrew's Church

St Andrew's Church is a major Baroque church in Kyiv. Was constructed between 1747 and 1754 and located in a charming historical area of Andriivsky Descent

The church was designed by the Italian architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli. Another his masterpiece - Maryinsky Palace - is located inside the Maryinsky Park

The monument nearby is dedicated to a 1961 comedy movie “Chasing Two Hares”. The plot is about a young Kyiv barber who tried to chase two girls at the same time: one for her money, despite her unattractiveness, and the other one for her beauty. His attempts end up with a huge humiliation once the truth comes out, just during the wedding ceremony at the St. Andrew’s Church
